MISSION EXPERIENCE THE CORRELATION BETWEEN THE GOSPEL AND THE PRINCIPLE PRINCIPLE IDEOLOGICAL
One line of investigation at issue in the last ten years is to have a clear vision of the relationship established between the principles often constitute the Gospel preached by Jesus and the ideological principles underlying the different currents and parties that make up the political system of a given society. To me, of Salvadoran society.
What is the purpose of those investigations?
First, get to establish the causes that prevent or impede the normal and effective development processes evangelists, who in his general conception is understood as the Church's mission in the world.
The Church is understood from what she does (mission): The Church is missionary by its very nature (Decree Ad Gentes of Vatican II, n. 2).
Given this positive affirmation of the Church, the second task of the research that goes into the correlation Gospel Ideology seeks to dismantle the argument that seeks to make such a subjectively mission-intimate or manipulative-mercantilist mode.
It stands, therefore, that the mission must be understood as a complex deployment that involves historical, cultural, biblical and theology. In short, the Christian mission is not what I think it may be, as a result of unfounded imagination. The mission is, in advance, fidelity to the historical facts of Jesus' life and faith with a strong element of hope in the prophetic vision and testimony of Jesus.
In short, try not to give in to the religious fashions of the day, whose only interest is self-glorification of the human being on the line to promote religious bigotry in order to get fame and lucrative income.
The dialectic between the evangelical principle and ideological principle
The word ideology has different meanings. His first sense refers to a set of related ideas together properly structured, as under a common goal. In this sense ideology is neither good nor bad, it is simply a structuring of ideas.
But all ideology has political and religious applications. There is no person in this world unless it is prey to a disease - not consciously or unconsciously part of the ideological forms that make up reality.
There is a "Christian ideology, that in the first sense described above, ie a Christian way of structuring the ideas that attempt to explain the historical reality. His foundation is the way Jesus understood the social and religious reality of their time. But there is also an anti-Christian ideology.
The Gospels are replete with examples in this regard. Consider, for example, in the parable of the Good Samaritan (Lk 10.25 et seq.). In it, Jesus says that true religion has little or nothing to do with the complicated rituals and regulations that determine the mode of action of the priest that does not help to be a victim of violence. Neither religion is reduced to systematic set of religious ideas through the lens view of the academic classrooms, which is the case of a teacher of law, which does not help that suffers. True faith and religion are effective in the line of the exercise of mercy. Do the right thing who understands faith as was second, giving priority to the first time, that is, the exercise of mercy, more attached to the dignity of the individual. Hence the words of the First Letter San Juan , who claims to love God, who does not see, and hates his brother, whom you see, is a liar (cf. 1 Jn 4.20).
When someone in the act is true to that principle in the Gospel of Luke, then, their mode of action is effective, ie a positive effect on reality. But when it proceeds according to what I think may be the true faith, then the negative phenomenology not only continues to claim its victims, but also reinforced, with an ideology of religion that is not connected with the facts of historical reality.
Even more clear is the dialectic between the ideological and evangelical in the story of healing the man born blind. The Pharisees were not happy that the blind has been subject to the mercy of Jesus. Rather worry that such a person was healed on the Sabbath (cf. John 9.1 seq.). This provision gives priority to making up the ideology of religion and not its foundation: Jesus himself. Hence the harsh words of Jesus: The Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath (cf. Mark 2.27; Matthew 12.8).
But many who claim to believe in Jesus suffer from the syndrome of historical discontinuity Church. Want the lifestyle that led Jesus has no influence on the present reality, so do not see themselves as part of the historical extension of the principle of freedom of the Gospel preached by Jesus. Do not feel responsible to incarnate the Gospel today.
historical discontinuity Church, is a normal consequence of the ideology of religion.
In lands of Central America have been killed bishops, priests, catechists, pastors, first under the argument of predestination of the righteous in the mouth of the colonizers, and then, on the grounds of anti-communist ideology, whose main ally was the ideology of religion. Therefore, the ideology of the colonizer and gold avid anti-communist ideology of unbridled capitalism are also killer. Show that, from the standpoint of historical and theological research is an essential task to rid the process of evangelization of the domain of ideological principle. It is true that governments created under the banner of communism anticlerical are murderers, which is indisputable. But every social and historical context calls for different responses. Precisely because it is the urgent need to disassociate itself from ideological domination.
The dialectic between these two principles-the evangelical and ideological-is inevitable, but the struggle to overcome the hegemony of the second principle of the flag-off "policy on the former is a task that puts us in terms of Christian witness historical responsibility and in the most specific of the Christian mission.
One thing is the ideology of religion, seen as fashionable or as a form of social domination and something quite different is the Gospel preached and lived by the Prophet of Nazareth. Both principles, for better or worse, need mediation historical. It is the task of true disciples of Jesus the open spaces in the story to his Gospel. At this point the supposed neutrality and betrayal of the Protestant principle.
